AtomOS 11.09.00 Firmware Release Notes

Ninja Ultra

Installation Instructions

Atomos recommends that your Ninja Ultra is plugged into mains power before commencing the firmware update.

  1. Insert a compatible, formatted SSD into the Docking Station.
  2. Unzip the downloaded file and copy the ATOMNJU.FW file to the root directory of the SSD.
  3. Eject the SSD according to operating system guidelines.
  4. Insert the SSD into the Ninja Ultra.
  5. If you have an Atomos Connect accessory, ensure this is connected to your device before powering on, as the module firmware will also need to be updated as part of this FW release.
  6. Power on the Ninja Ultra and the firmware update process will begin automatically.
Note: If your Ninja Ultra is already powered on, you will be prompted to perform the firmware update when a drive containing new firmware is inserted.
  7. Once the update is complete, your Ninja Ultra will power itself down.
  8. Power your Ninja Ultra back on and the device will automatically start updating the Atomos Connect accessory.
  9. To verify if the firmware update was successfully completed, navigate to the main menu and scroll to the info tab.

Note: Once firmware 11.09.00 is successfully installed on your Ninja Ultra, the unit may reboot to update the Atomos Connect firmware. Do not interrupt the firmware installation process.

New Features

AtomOS 11.09.00 adds RAW support for the Canon EOS R5 Mark II, expanding the ever-growing lineup of cameras that Atomos recorders can capture ProRes RAW from.

Canon EOS R5 Mark II RAW Support

ProRes RAW Recording Specification via HDMI

Note: WB and ISO controls/slider adjustments are available for this camera in Final Cut Pro.

Operational considerations: Atomos recommends switching the HDMI Standard setting of the recorder (found in the Input menu) to Compatibility Mode. If the HDMI Standard is set to "2.0", there might be issues locking the R5 Mark II's RAW ouput signals, when cycling through the different output formats via the cameras "Q" button above the settings wheel.
